Today, the enigmatic mountain of Isandlwana nestles peacefully amongst the majestic beauty of the Zululand hills.  In 1879, however, it was the site of one of the most dramatic and enthralling events in the history of the Zulu Kingdom.  Combine history with a beach & Marine experience, followed with Phinda’s Big 5 wildlife experience.

As conducted from Durban International Airport to Durban International Airport.

Day 01 - 02: Battlefields

Upon your arrival at Durban International Airport a CC Africa Representative will meet you, and will assist you with the collection of your rental vehicle.  Our Representative will go through your travel documentation with you, providing self-drive tips and advice on the areas that you will be visiting.  You then make your way to the Battlefields Region.


Spend two nights at Fugitives Drift Lodge in a standard room.  Accommodation is on a full board basis and one Battlefield tour has been included for you.

Day 03 - 04: Greater St Lucia Wetland Park

With the directions given, you make your way to Thonga Beach Lodge, situated in the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park.

Spend two nights at Thonga Beach Lodge in a standard room.  Accommodation is on a full board basis, including all meals, tea & coffee, use of snorkelling equipment, guided walks and canoeing & sundowners on Lake Sibiya.

Day 05 – 06: Maputaland Region

Depart for Phinda Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal’s Maputaland region for a unique and luxurious safari experience.

Spend two nights at Phinda Private Game Reserve at either Mountain Lodge or Forest Lodge.  Accommodation is on a fully inclusive basis (including: three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local branded spirits and beers, teas and coffees, two game drives daily in open safari vehicles, refreshments on game drives, one hour nature walks subject to availability and accompanied by experienced and armed trackers, laundry and emergency medical evacuation insurance).

Day 07: Durban

After your early morning game activity and breakfast, you check out of the Lodge and make your way to Durban International Airport. Here you will drop off your rental vehicle and board your departure flight.
