There are some who may still believe that a trip to Southern Africa is only to be undertaken by the most adventurous and travelwise. Nothing could be further from the truth. With Afro Ventures you can vacation in exactly the style you are accustomed to. It is possible to travel in the country of your choice and have a wide spectrum of experiences; whether you want to move like an ancient nomad from one wilderness camp to the next or indulge in world-class luxury at superb accommodations and game reserves. It’s simply a case of being equipped with all the necessary information.

Driving Safety
Countries like South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe have good roads and infrastructure, making them ideal self-drive destinations. Your Afro Ventures consultant will be able to provide you with more details. Car rental services are generally available in Southern Africa.

Safety Precautions
If you intend to do some travelling out of the care of CCAfrica, you are advised to familiarise yourself with the conditions of the areas you will be visiting.

What to pack

  • Long-sleeved shirt and long pants to wear whenever possible
  • Insect repellent
  • Over the counter anti-diarrhoeal medicine
  • Iodine or chlorine tablets and water filters to purify water if bottled water is not available
  • Sunblock, sunglasses, hat
  • Prescription medications: make sure you have enough to last during your trip, as well as a copy of the prescription(s)
  • Spare prescription spectacles or contact lenses, and a copy of your presciption

Travel Insurance
Emergency Medical Cover & Travel Insurance

Afro Ventures, the Tours and Safaris arm of CCAfrica, includes emergency medical evacuation insurance in all itineraries (with the exception of South Africa). All reasonable, practical assistance in obtaining primary and/or emergency medical services will be provided to an insured person. In the event that an insured person requires medical treatment, EuropAssistance will provide the necessary financial guarantees in order that the insured person may gain admission to any hospital or clinic. Travellers are advised to take out standard travel insurance privately before departure.
