A full complement of camp staff cater to your every need. Accommodation is in walk-in tents with camp beds, linen, duvets, pillows and each tent has private adjacent ablution facilities (hot & cold shower + flush loo). For fellow travellers with a sense of adventure who would like to discover some of Southern Africa’s remotest gems, Afro Ventures has designed a unique brand of safari which we term limited participation camping safaris. This is a comfortable, convenient style of camping safari and the only participation which we expect from our guests is to put up and take down their safari tents.

Our limited participation camping adventures are lead by professional Afro Ventures safari guides and travel overland in our own specially modified safari vehicles. Because we believe that discovering Africa is a profoundly personal experience, we limit our camping safaris to a maximum of 10 passengers.

We supply top quality 2,4m x 2,4m 3-man igloo tents with mosquito proofing and sewn-in ground sheets for twin occupancy only. Compressed foam mattresses and all other camping equipment, except sleeping bags and pillow, are provided. All our Botswana limited participation camping safaris include a support vehicle, back-up driver and camp assistant who perform the camp chores. On the participation camping safaris we operate in Namibia and Zimbabwe, we do not provide support vehicles but we do supply a camp assistant to perform camp chores. Our safari vehicles are fitted with refrigerators so that we can provide you with fresh fruit and vegetables on safari – a real luxury in the bush!

Most of the people who venture on our mobile tented safaris have never camped before, but soon acclimatise. The camaraderie, friendship and team spirit developed on a safari under canvas is almost as important as the fact that camping allows us to get truly close to nature.
